Supreme
Championship Wrestling had changed its House Show schedule, canceling its
Indiana shows due to the Indiana “Religious Freedom” Law. But that didn’t keep Jessica Lasiewicz from
The Hoosier State. The young Polish woman
had another reason to make the trek to Indianapolis ahead of her SCW duties on
Breakdown: namely the NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament. The final four had arrived and her team, the
Duke Blue Devils, had not only made it to the final four in Indianapolis but,
after a 61 to 81 victory over Michigan State, had made it to the National
Championship Finals against Wisconsin.
Supporting
the Duke Blue Devils as a cheerleader is just one of the many hats Jessica has
to wear. Luck for her that hat can be
put away for awhile as the men’s basketball season ends Monday in the championship
game. There are many other hats she
wears and primary among them is her duty as a wrestler on the SCW roster. In her debut she defeated Arcadia Chavez and
now on the next Breakdown in Wichita, Kansas she is scheduled to go up against
Ransom.
Yet Ransom,
while a notable challenge to say the least, is not the least of Jessica’s
concerns. She does hope to defeat Ransom
but her ultimate concern has to do with her family. Her family is truly her top priority and she
will do anything to save them from the real threat, a threat much bigger than
Ransom is to Jessica on Breakdown…
…Silas
World.
Both Jessica’s
mother Angelica Jones and Jessica’s sister Marie Jones are members of Silas
World and Jessica knows that her mother and sister are in danger the longer
they associate with Silas Mason. She
knows that their careers, maybe even their physical well-being, could be put
into danger the longer they associate with that man and she desperately wants
to convince them to leave. She w ants to
show them that they do not need Silas Mason in order to succeed.
Doing so
will be challenging. Both Angelic and
Marie have become world champions since signing with Silas Mason and Marie
herself is in the main event of IWC’s Invictus pay per view with their world
title on the line. Marie is currently
the holder of two sets of world tag team titles. How could she convince someone as successful
as she is that the success she has means nothing and that she should leave
Silas Mason?
Between
dealing with Ransom on Breakdown and then Silas World sometime down the road,
Jessica’s heart is heavy and mind weighed down, concerned with how she will
pull off all of this. Being here in
Indianapolis, Indiana for the NCAA Final Four Fan Fest is a good way to try and
forget about her problems, if only for awhile as she focuses on cheering her
Blue Devils on to, hopefully, a fifth national championship.
Jessica is
walking around the Indiana Convention Center in Downtown Indianapolis where the
Fan Fest is being held. With her is her
best friend Candra Stevens. Both girls
are dressed in their royal blue and white cheerleading uniforms.
“What’s your
prediction, Jess?”
“Prediction?” Jessica asks.
“The game,
silly! Duke and Wisconsin.”
Jessica
smiles and she looks up slightly, as if deep in thought. “Well…I’m going to say
Duke by 5 or less.”
“Really?”
“Yes,
really. Two number one seeds, two
championship quality teams. I think it
will be five or fewer points that separates these two.”
“Well I
think it’ll be Duke…by double digits!” Candra pumps her fists.
Jessica just
rolls her eyes. “You know, Candra, it’s not time for the pep rally. You don’t have to be in the super-bubbly
cheerleader mode right now.”
Candra
giggles. “True, but I love it!”
“I can tell.”
Jessica smiles wryly.
The Morning
Star taking on Ransom will hardly be a match on the level of Duke and Wisconsin
but nevertheless, it is important to Jessica that she be ready to win. She fears that a loss could not only derail
her career in SCW but her plans to hopefully save her sister and mother from
Silas Mason. Every match for Jessica, no
matter if it’s a curtain jerker match or a main event, is important as yet
another step closer towards her goal of bringing her family home.
Candra
Stevens and Jessica Lasiewicz have been friends for quite some time now. Jessica, a full time pro-wrestler, promised her family that she
would finish getting her four-year college education by taking part time
classes and online classes at Duke University.
It was there that she met Candra Stevens, a senior and captain of the
cheerleading squad.
The two
became fast friends and more. Candra saw
in Jessica something few could see: a happines and joy buried down in her soul,
hidden by a darkness and bleak outlook on life, a rough exterior that Jessica presented
to the rest of the world. Candra was
convinced that the brighter, happier side of Jessica Lasiewicz existed and that
she could bring it out in her. But even
The Morning Star doubted that any happiness was left inside of her.
Thus the bet
was made. Candra would treat Jessica to
a dinner anywhere she wanted if Candra could not prove her claims. Jessica, averse to all things cheerleader, would
join the cheerleading squad if Candra could make her happy again. That’s what Candra did for Jessica. She made her happy. She brought out the bright part of her soul,
a part Jessica herself had long thought was dead.
The young
Polish woman is repaying her best friend the only way she knows how. She helped Candra escape her ruthless,
abusive father who beat and molested her.
Now Jessica is letting Candra stay with her until she can find a place
of her own. That’s how she tries to
repay Candra.
“I gotta
say, Jess,” Candra begins with a grin on her face “I’m kinda surprised you’re
joining us today.”
“You’re
kidding right?” Jessica asks. “Duke is in the National Championship and you’re
surprised that I’m here in Indianapolis?”
“Oh no, I
knew you were coming to Indy.” She stops, as does Jessica, and she motions to
Jessica’s uniform. “I mean this!”
“Again, are
you kidding? Duke is here, I gotta be
here as well. I have a job to do.”
“But aren’t
you worried with all the fans here that someone might recognize you?” Candra
asks.
“It’s
possible but Candra, what you have to realize about me is that if I commit
myself to something then I will see it through.
I made a deal with you, remember?”
Candra nods
her head. “Yup, I remember. You didn’t
think I could make you happy again.”
“That’s
right. You said that there was a happy
person deep down inside of me, Candra. I
was convinced that this world was full of darkness. I was pessimistic and negative and though
nothing but bad would come. You were
convinced that there was goodness and happiness inside me and you bet that you
could bring it out in me. I agreed to be
a cheerleader if you could pull it off and by God you pulled it off.”
Jessica hugs
Candra. “I owe it to you to see this bet through.”
After
breaking the hug Jessica chuckles. “Besides, fighting Ransom on Breakdown and
trying to convince my pig-headed family members to leave Silas World is more of
a chore and not fun. This is fun. I enjoy this.
I enjoy being a cheerleader.”
Candra
smirks. “I never thought I’d hear you say that!”
“Well it’s
true. You did a lot of good for me,
Candra. You helped me in ways I cannot
begin to repay.”
Candra bites
her lower lip. “Ummm, Jess, I need to tell you something.”
“Sure, but,
we need to hurry.” Jessica points at her wrist. “It’s almost time for the pep
rally and we have to be there.”
“I know, but
this is kind of important. Can we talk
in private?”
Jessica nods
her head. “Sure.”
The two
women walk away from the crowd of people to a secluded area, away from the
prying eyes. Once there Jessica can see
the tears form in Candra’s eyes. Jessica
places a hand on her shoulders.
“What’s
wrong, Candra?”
“It’s my
dad.” The sobs begin whole-heartedly now. “I think he’s stalking me.”
“What makes
you say that?” Jessica asks.
“He sent me
a letter. He wants to meet with me.”
Jessica shakes
her head. “Do NOT meet with him. Do you
hear me, Candi? Do NOT meet with that
man!”
“I hear you
but…that’s my dad…”
“Your dad is
a monster.” Jessica remarks.
“He was, but
could he have changed?”
“People don’t
change.”
“You did.”
Candra answers back.
“Yeah, yeah
I did…” she sighs “…look, just don’t do anything rash, ok? Think it over.”
“I will,
Jess. I promise. In fact, I think I may just go back to my
hotel room after the pep rally anyway.
Get some sleep before tomorrow’s big game.”
Jessica nods
her head. “That’s a good idea, Candi.
You go and rest. That’s what you
need. And don’t worry about your father
right now.”
Candra
grins. “Thanks, Jess. See you at the
rally?”
“Yeah, see
you at the rally.”
With that,
Candra walks away. Jessica frowns. “Yes…let
me deal with your father…”

It’s been
about thirty minutes since the Duke pep rally in Indianapolis has come to an
end. Jessica Lasiewicz, clad in her
royal blue and white Duke cheerleading uniform, smiles as she spots her
boyfriend and tag team partner, Kyle Butler, approaching, finally returning
from the concession stand with drinks and hot dogs.
“Man, the
atmosphere is crazy tonight. Too bad my Crimson Tide is not a basketball
powerhouse like your Blue Devils.” Kyle says with a smile.
“Well, maybe
someday.” She sips her coke. “But you are right, this place is electric.
Too bad SCW canceled the House Shows here. It would’ve been
terrific.”
“That was
unfortunate. Found the crazy the other week a wrestler would actually tweet
about their drunken night out knowing they were supposed to work a house show
that night. Not everyone can be professionals like us.” Kyle takes a bite from
his hot dog.
“I take it
you mean, Selena?” Jessica chuckles. “Well, I’m not going to judge her, but I
will say that I wouldn’t do something like that. And I will also say this
about Selena.”
She frowns,
looking much more serious. “Between her and Silas Mason, I’d choose to
associate with her every time.”
“I’m more
shocked she would tweet about it. That’s all. Speaking of ‘Mr. Wonderful.’ Kyle
rolls his eyes. “He added a new chess piece. Be careful.”
Jessica nods
her head. “I saw, Regan Street. But Kyle, this isn’t about Regan or
anyone else. This is about my family. Silas can add the entire SCW
roster to his chess board and I’ll still take every last one of them on in
order to save my mother and sister.”
Kyle wraps
his arm around Jessica’s shoulder. “I have faith you can get the job done. You
have your work ahead of you. Surprised there faith hasn’t favored. I won’t
pretend to know a lot about the history between Brittany Lohan and your mother.
Aren’t they tight? Silas did treat her like crap and Angelica stayed out of it.
Your sister has, well, admittedly done everything in her power to drive Britt
to do things only permitted in horror movies. If the way Silas treated the
family friend isn’t enough to break their resolve, what will?”
Jessica
sighs. “I think I can reach my mother easier than Marie. Marie hasn’t
done anything to bring the wrath of Silas upon her yet. Not only that but
since signing with him she has won two world championships, two world tag team
championships, and is in the main event of Invictus for IWC’s world title.
It will be most difficult to convince her to ignore that success and drop
Silas.”
Kyle nods.
“True. Shame too. Family and friends should mean more than championship success.”
“Marie’s
reaction is understandable.” She sips her coke. “She was treated like dirt when
she first joined IWC. She tried to do the right thing and not even
Orlando Cruze would try and help her when idiots like Frankie Paradise and
Sinistry would constantly screw her over. So she thinks stooping to their
level is the best way to go and it will be hard to argue to her that it hasn’t
worked because she IS a triple-champ right now…”
“I suppose
so. We deal with our fair share of nonsense in GCW. And you are bound to run
into the same nonsense in SCW. Wrestling matters. No matter how bad it gets or
the lack of success that comes our way, we need to stand for something or
you’ll fall for anything. Maybe its just me. What’s most important is getting
your sister away from Silas.”
Jessica
smirks. “You DO realize you just quoted a country song, right?”
Kyle smirks.
“Maybe.”
Jessica
laughs. “You’re right, though, we have to stand up for something and we have to
stand up against SIlas World, even if that means having to stand up against my
own family.”
“Shame. Neil
is the closest to family I have. Glad I don’t have to worry about him signing
on with Silas or Nero’s little Nirvana army. Still baffles me his wife can play
a role in that.”
“Summer has
changed. A lot.” Jessica sighs. “Reminds me of back in the day when she
and I tag teamed together.”
She laughs
lightly. “Summer and I were your and Neil’s cheerleaders once, if you recall.”
“Yeah. Those
were the days. Everything worked out for the best even if my best friend has to
deal with his wife being another man’s pet.” Kyle shrugs.
“Things can
change and I do hope things get better for Summer and Neil the same way things
changed and got better for you and me.” She takes Kyle’s hands. “We worked out
well for one another, as it turns out. I was wrong about you back then.”
“I didn’t
make things easy. I never lost faith we would make an awesome team one day.
People thought I was crazy. I knew against all odds we would arrive at this
moment. Besides my best friend, you are the best thing thats ever happened to
me.”
Jessica and
Kyle lock lips and kiss.
“Am I
interrupting anything?” The kiss is broken and Jessica looks over to find
Candra Stevens approaching, also in her royal blue and white cheerleading
uniform.
“Candi!”
Jessica exclaims. “What are you doing here? I thought you were going to
head back to your hotel room?”
“I changed
my mind.” She smiles weakly. “I feel better now.”
She motions
to Kyle. “So are you going to introduce me to your friend or what?”
Jessica
chuckles. “Candra, this is Kyle. Kyle...Candra.”
“How are you
today, Candra.” Kyle nods.
“I’ve been
better, but I think things will get better tomorrow!”
“Hopefully
that’s the case. No one says you can’t feel better today. Go Duke, right?” Kyle
pumps his fist.
“That’s
right!” Candra remraks. “Go Duke!”
Jessica
snickers. “Candi here is the one responsible for me being a cheerleader.”
“You are an
amazing cheerleader, Jess. The best in the business.” Kyle winks.
“I ought to
be focusing on being the best wrestler.” Jessica remarks slowly. “I have to
face Ransom on the next SCW Breakdown.”
“Ransom
is... interesting. There isn’t a lot of footage on the guy. From what little I
did find out, he has a fascination with Britt. He tried putting Angelica Waters
in her place at Retribution. That didn’t work out to well for him. Not sure
what his purpose in wrestling is. I know you. You should win.”
“Yeah, well,
I can’t take anything or anyone for granted. Not even this guy.”
Kyle nods.
“True.”
“You’ll do fine, Jess.” Candra grins, placing a hand on her shoulder. “Beat this Ransom guy. Do what you do best, girl!”

My girl Jessie
has already made her SCW debut and lemme tell ya, I was proud of her win
against that crazy cannibal Arcadia Chavez!
Jessie knows how to get the job done!
Now another
Breakdown and another match, this time against a crazy cat named Ransom. I don’t know much about you Ransom. But then, I’m new to all this myself. What I do know is that you recently tried to
help Brittany Lohan out against Angelica Waters but that didn’t work out so
well for ya. Now you’re my girl Jessie’s
next opponent.
Give it your
best shot, Ransom, but what I’m telling you is that getting your SCW career
back on the right track will be much easier said than done. Jessica Lasiewicz, much like MY Duke Blue Devils,
can beat anyone. Heck, she HAS beaten
some of the best already and she’s still young and new to this game.
I’m not
gonna stand here and say it’ll be a cakewalk for her. Wrestling isn’t something I’m an expert at
but if its anything like basketball then I can tell you honestly that anyone
can beat anybody on any given day but Breakdown just isn’t gonna be YOUR given
day, Ransom.
And Jessica isn’t
just anybody…she is The Morning Star.
Lady Gambit. Member of the famous
Jones wrestling family.
This will be
a tough challenge for you. Not to say it
won’t be a tough challenge for Jess. But
I know Jess and I know that she will be up for the challenge.
Are you up
for the challenge?
==========
Jessica Lasiewicz
On Camera
==========
It’s dark in
a dimly lit, empty arena. The fans have
not arrived and yet there is a ring set up in anticipation for the next night’s
events. As the camera pans upward we can
see movement up in the rafters where there is a singular spotlight shining. After seeing this movement in the rafters we
cut to the rafters themselves where we see Jessica Lasiewicz pacing
around. The raven haired Morning Star is
wearing black denim, black boots, and a black t-shirt. Her long black hair hangs unrestrained to
shoulder length.
“Two weeks
ago.” She holds up two fingers. “Two weeks ago I issued a declaration of war. Two weeks ago I informed the roster of
Supreme Championship Wrestling that things were going to happen, big things.”
“Then I made
my debut on Breakdown against the visiting Arcadia Chavez and my performance
made everyone sit up and take notice. I
served notice to everyone on the roster the moment I dropped Arcadia Chavez on
her head on Breakdown. But most importantly,
it served notice to my enemies, to those I declared war on, that I am serious,
that I am deadly serious about my goals in Supreme Championship Wrestling.”
For the
first time she stops pacing. Lasiewicz
gazes directly into the camera, glaring long and hard with a stone-faced stoic
expression, a determined expression.
“Mother…no
matter what you say I will not quit, I will not stop, until you and my sister
see the light. Even if I have to drill
it through both of your skulls myself I will make sure you get my message and I
will pry you kicking and screaming away from Silas Mason and I will rain hell
down upon anyone who gets in my way.”
A grin forms
across her face. “I suspect there are those who may still doubt that I am
capable of delivering on my promises. In
that case, then let me say that I am more than happy to illustrate just one
final time exactly what I am capable of.”
She points
at the camera. “And that’s where you come in, Ransom.”
“You drew
the short end of the straw when you drew me as an opponent. That isn’t to say you’re not capable. That isn’t to say you have no talent. I’m not like some in this industry, some who
shall remain nameless, who simply bury their opponent. You wouldn’t be in SCW if you didn’t have
talent. But I know how good I am and I
know how pissed off and determined I am right now.”
Jessica
shakes her head. “And I really don’t know if you have any idea what you are
getting yourself into.”
“I came to
SCW not seeking out personal championships or glory, although I’m sure in time
those opportunities will come. I came to
SCW with a greater goal in mind. A
higher purpose if you will. And nothing
can stand in my way. No one will stop
me. Arcadia Chavez couldn’t s top me and
you won’t stop me either.”
“I will drop
you on your head with Our Lady of Sorrows or I’ll make you tap out to the Four
Card Trick, but either way you’re going to go down. Either way, you are in for a world of hurt
come Breakdown.”
“Dobranoc.”
