Sitting
in a large living room that has wine-colored carpeting, cream colored walls, in
the middle of two sofas and a love seat, is Sean Connor Jones, the son, now a
toddler, of IWC Uprising superstar Marie Annabelle Jones. He is not being left alone and
unattended. Yes, he does have his IWC
action figures (get yours today at IWCShop.com) but he also has his aunt
Kimberly Williams to keep him company.
The somewhat sociopathic raven-haired beauty sits on the love seat, with
her legs folded underneath her, and her head propped up against her right hand,
letting out a sigh, not a sigh of boredom but more of concern, concern for this
young child she sees before her.
Yes,
even sociopaths can, on occasion, show signs of concern for other human
beings. In this case Sean Connor Jones
is her nephew and she cares about what becomes of him in the future. This isn't to say that she is worried about
how her half-sister Marie Annabelle Jones is doing as a mother to this
child. On the contrary, Kimberly has no
doubts in her mind that Marie does an excellent job taking care of Sean and
providing for his every need.
Unfortunately,
as good a mother as Kimberly believes Marie to be, there are some necessities
that even the ginger-haired beauty cannot provide and Kimberly knows this. One such necessity is the need for a father
figure in Sean's life.
Granted,
one can debate for a very long time about whether or not a child truly needs a
father figure of some sort in his or her life in order to grow and mature into
a good person. The feminist movement
that got a great deal of steam in the early 20th century seemed to
argue that a single mother, on her own, could provide all of the needs for a
child. It may be difficult at times for
the mother, but she could do it. And yet
there were still others who argued that for some children, at least the males
at least, there was no substitute for a father figure to help them learn how to
grow and mature into a man.
The
Jones family had always been somewhat more traditional than most families and
Marie Annabelle Jones was no exception.
Marie has always been convinced that her son Sean needed a father figure
to look up to. Yes, she could provide
Sean with all of the bare necessities of life and she could even teach him
right from wrong, but she does not believe she can teach him how to be a
man. In her mind there is no substitute
for a masculine role model in Sean's life.
Kimberly's
concern for Sean is minimal. She isn't
nearly as traditional as the Jones women, and that's because Kimberly has no
Jones blood in her. Would it be easier
if there was a father figure? Certainly. Does Marie need one to help her raise
Sean? No.
Kimberly's
primary concern is for Marie herself.
With each passing day, week, month, and year Sean continues to
grow. Kimberly knows that Marie is
getting desperate to find someone to be a masculine role model for her son and
she is worried that Marie will make a mistake and go with the first guy who gives
her any real attention. She has done
that before, after all. She had a
relationship with fellow professional wrestler Damian Daniel Toole. Toole proved to be very abusive towards Marie
and Marie took it. She took every bit of
it and refused to fight back, all because she was desperate to find someone to
be with, someone to help her raise Sean, even if that someone was an abusive
prick of a human being.
Is
lightning about to strike twice?
Kimberly hopes not. She is here
tonight to babysit Sean while Marie goes out on a date with her latest find; a
man named Arthur Pond.
Pond
is a unique case in that he does not realize that he is dating Marie Annabelle
Jones. He remembers her from their days
when they both worked at a convent and at the time Marie went by the name
Kimberly Williams. Marie has chosen not
to correct him, she has chosen not to tell him who she really is. She has, instead, decided to let him continue
to think she is Kimberly Williams, an ex-nun who wants to have fun.
No
rhyme intended.
Marie
cannot keep up the charade for too long.
Kimberly knows this and surely Marie knows it as well. Jones is already having to go through a great
deal of trouble to keep this under wraps.
This date has to take place in the United States, not overseas in Japan
where Independent Wrestling Cartel is currently having its next set of shows,
including the next Uprising event where Marie will compete against Jessica
Wilde, otherwise Pond would become suspicious.
Granted, her duties to Global Championship Wrestling's Livewire brand
required her to make a brief return trip to the United States anyway, but
still, the fact remains that a lot of jet flying across the globe to and from
the United States will be involved in this charade.
For
now, though, the itinerary for the next week is simple: enjoy this date with
Arthur, travel back to Japan, kick Jessica Wilde's ass. Hopefully Pond remains none the wiser. Simple, right?
“Marie!”
Kimberly
shouts out loudly, hoping her half-sister can hear her from inside the bathroom
where she is currently doing a few touch-ups on her make-up.
“Are
you almost ready?!”
“Give
me a sec...”
Kimberly
sighs, rolling her eyes out of frustration as she turns her attention back to
Sean, sitting on the floor with a Jessica Wilde action figure in one hand and a
Marie Jones action figure in the other, beating them together repeatedly. Watching this causes a smirk to slide across
Kim's face.
“Looks
like you got at least some of my genes, kiddo.
You like violence, huh?”
Sean
looks over at Kimberly and smiles. He
holds up the Jessica Wilde action figure.
“This
person sucks!” He
tosses it aside and then proudly displays the action figure in the image of his
mother. “My mommy is gonna kick her butt!”
“Right-on,
kiddo!”
Kimberly reaches out and ruffles his hair. “That's the attitude to have!”
Sean's
smile grows even more at this praise he receives from his aunt. A few moments later, though, it fades away
into a look of confusion, and maybe a touch of sadness.
“Aunt
Kimmie, where's mommy?”
Kimberly
sighs again. “That's a good question, darling.”
Kimberly
turns her head away from Sean and back towards the direction of the bathroom.
“Marie!”
“I
said give me a second!”
“Your
son wants you...”
There
is a pause as Kimberly turns to gaze back at Sean, who now frowns, anxious in
anticipation and worried about where his mother is. Another tense moment passes and finally
Kimberly can hear the bathroom door creaking open (yeah, she really should put
some oil on that thing). Marie then
steps into full view wearing her very best dress. The dark material
clung to her frame, draping perfectly over her curves. The onyx color is one that could match even
the darkest of nights. Silk under ones
fingers, hugging her waist, yet flowing out at the knee, to allow her to move
with ease. A bodice of lace and jewel
put emphases on her as she walked in.
“Wow!”
Kimberly
exclaims, looking on in awe at what Marie is wearing. “You look hot!”
“Good,
that's the impression I'm going for.”
Kimberly
looks her up and down again and frowns. “Are you seriously going through
with this date?”
“Yes,
Kim, I really am.”
Marie responds shortly. “I happen to think Arthur is a great guy and that we
can have a good time.”
“Don't
lie to me, sis.”
Kimberly motions to Marie with both hands. “You don't put on THAT dress just
to go out and have a good time with a guy.”
The
red-headed Phoenix shakes her head. “Fine, so maybe I like him...”
“Like
him?” Kimberly begins. “You broke out your most
elegant dress for this occasion. This is
beyond liking him.”
“Whatever,” Marie rolls her
eyes “we can debate semantics all day long and it will get us nowhere. The fact is that I like him and I am going
out with him tonight. What is it to
you?”
“Nothing,
nothing at all, except...” her voice trails off
“Except
what?”
“For
starters, aren't you worried that this will be a slight distraction from your
match at Uprising? You have Jessica
Wilde one on one.”
“Jessica
Wilde?”
Marie scoffs. “Please, I can beat her with my eyes closed.”
“Don't
underestimate her.” Kimberly
warns. “Besides, even if you are that good, couldn't you use her as an
opportunity to make a statement, to show your opponents, whomever they may be,
what they have in store for them at Revolution?”
Kimberly
reaches out and playfully touches her sister's nose. “Or maybe Jessica could
make a statement by beating you...”
Marie
shakes her head vehemently. “Nope, not gonna happen! Not in this lifetime OR the next!”
“Fine,
just be careful...”
Kimberly remarks “...and that's not all I'm worried about...”
“What
is it?!”
Marie
says, by now sounding very upset and agitated that her half-sister is
continuing to press this issue any further.
“What
else could you possibly...”
Marie's
voice trails off as a look of realization washes over her. Then a grin forms upon her face and she
begins laughing lightly.
“...oh
I get it! You've gone soft!”
Kimberly
shakes her head. “I haven't gone soft.”
“Yes
you have!”
Marie exclaims, still laughing. “I remember how you first tracked me down in
the wrestling business. You stalked me,
you tried to destroy me and my family before we finally made up. You are an admitted sociopath and now...”
Marie
reaches out and pinches Kim's cheek playfully “...you're worried about my
well-being! Isn't that sweet?”
“Just
because I am concerned for your well-being doesn't mean I've gone soft!”
Kimberly's
shout was enough that it startled everyone in the room, including little Sean
who has been listening this entire time and continues to listen as the two
adults, paying him no attention, continue their conversation.
“Look,
Marie...our father, Sean Williams, is dead.
Sean's brother, our uncle, is a convicted child molester and is serving
prison time. You, me, and even your son,
we are all that is left of Sean Williams and his legacy. So yes, I do care about you Marie, and I know
how you are and I know what you want.”
Kimberly
motions to Sean. “You want a role model for him. And that is a good thing to want. But I'm worried that you'll make another
mistake.”
Marie
nods her head. “I know...I have made mistakes. Damian Daniel Toole was a mistake that I had
made. I was weak at the time and
desperate. I let myself believe the lies
he told about me. But I am not that
person any longer and I truly believe that Arthur is not like Toole.”
“Maybe
so, but if you do like Arthur so much, then why are you lying to him?”
“I'm
not lying to him.”
“Yes
you are.” Kimberly
responds. “You lie to him every time you go out because he still has no idea
he is dating Marie Annabelle Jones. He
thinks he's dating me and you haven't told him any different.”
The
two sisters stare into each other's eyes for a long period of time. Finally...
“Mommy?”
Marie
is startled back to awareness. She looks
down at her son and smiles. “Yes, sweetie?”
“Are
you leaving?”
“Yes,
dear. Mommy is going to go out with a
friend.”
“I
want to meet your friend, mommy.”
Marie
smiles as she kisses him on his cheek. “You will soon.”
The
thoughts of the young ginger-haired mother are interrupted when the doorbell
sounds loudly throughout the house.
“That’s him!”
Marie
says excitedly as she quickly jumps up to her feet and turns to face Kimberly,
embracing her in a tight hug.
“You know where all
of the emergency numbers are, right?”
Kimberly
nods her head. “Yes, but quite frankly I’d
rather not have to call your mother or any of the Jones women for help. I don’t think they trust me.”
Marie
rolls her eyes. “Gee, I wonder why?”
“Anyway, Sean and I
will be fine. You go and have a good time.”
“Oh I will,” Marie winks “believe me, I will!”
Marie
turns and starts to walk away as Kimberly calls out after her. “Oh and Marie…”
The
Phoenix stops and turns around. “Yes?”
“Be careful.”
Marie
snickers. “Yep, you’ve gone soft!”
Gone
soft? Perhaps. Kimberly Williams is a diagnosed
sociopath. It is strange for her to
seemingly exude such caring feelings towards Marie and yet she does indeed seem
to genuinely care about her half-sister.
Justifiably so. Marie has not
been acting like herself lately. For one
example, she has been more vicious and more violent lately within the confines
of the IWC wrestling ring. Though that
can be directly attributed to Kimberly herself.
Marie agreed to let Marie join her on the IWC tours and join her in IWC
arenas so that she can train her and prepare The Phoenix for her future
matches, all with the purpose of adding the one thing Kimberly felt was missing
from Marie’s arsenal…
…a
killer instinct.
One
would have to argue that Marie does indeed have that killer instinct now, after
taking out Scott Steele, assaulting Crissy Gardner, and even blasting Drew
Bryant with a steel chair. Now will
that killer instinct lead her to the Uprising World Championship? Only time will tell.
Another
question that remains is how much influence has Kimberly had upon Marie? We know she has adopted more of a killer
instinct but what else has Marie adopted?
Signs are there that point to something more and Kimberly can see it
clearly. For instance, tonight, Marie is
going out on a date with a man who truly believes she is Kimberly Williams and
Marie has not corrected him.
What
purpose does it serve to deceive this man whom Marie now greets at the door as
she opens it, this man standing at the door wearing a button up silk shirt,
dark gray suit combo, and a matching tie?
No one knows. It just doesn’t
make any sense. But then again, nothing
Kimberly Williams did ever made sense, and here, for Arthur Pond, Marie is pretending
to be Kimberly Williams.
“Good evening,
Kimberly…”
his voice trails off as he looks over Marie up and down “…wow, you look absolutely stunning!”
“You told me to
dress nice,” Marie
responds with a wink “so I pulled out my
best dress, just for you.”
She
leans over and kisses him on the cheek. “And
please, feel free to call me Kim…or Kimmie…”
Arthur
chuckles. “Well ok then, Kim…”
Arthur
takes her by the arm and, like the gentlemen he is, begins to lead her down the
walkway towards his car.
“…I think you will
find tonight enjoyable. We’re going to
this fancy French restaurant. You did
say you liked French cuisine?”
Marie
nods her head. “I did…”
“Great, and then
after we eat we can go dancing. How does
that sound?”
Marie
snuggles in close to Arthur, resting her head on his shoulder. “It sounds great, Arthur. It sounds great.”
When
they reach the car, Arthur continues to pour on the gentleman routine, opening
the passenger side door for Marie, letting her step inside before shutting the
door. Arthur then walks around to the
driver’s side and steps into the car…
…meanwhile,
Kimberly is watching all of this go down from inside the house, not sure if she
should feel more worried and concerned for her half-sister Marie, or feel pity
upon Arthur Pond, who is being lied to and manipulated this very second by
Marie, for reasons that are unknown,
even to Kimberly herself. And all
Kimberly can do is watch, watch as the car pulls away, and pray that Marie does
not do something she will regret.

Love
her or hate her, it really is irrelevant, because the fact of the matter is
that Marie Annabelle Jones, my half-sister, is on the fast track to the top of
the IWC mountain! If you don’t believe
me, then just let’s look at the facts for a moment shall we?
FACT
número uno: Marie
was drafted first overall in the IWC draft.
FACT
numero dos: Marie
became number one contender to the IWC Uprising World Championship at Extreme
Fury.
FACT
número tres: Now Marie, along with Amanda Blayze, is the
number one contender to the IWC World Tag Team Championship.
You
cannot argue with facts and the facts clearly and indisputably show that,
despite everyone who has tried to hold her back, especially Drew Bryant when he
suspended her, despite all of those obstacles, Marie Annabelle Jones is still
skyrocketing to the top of the IWC.
The
next stop is Revolution where she will become IWC Uprising World Champion.
Why
is she so successful? It’s all because
she has embraced the hate. She has
embraced the violence. No longer does
she care what each and every one of you think, no longer does she care what the
little people think. She only cares
about one person in this industry…
…herself.
Jessica
Wilde serves one purpose and one purpose only in this match coming up at
Uprising. She is an opponent. She is someone whom Marie will make an
example out of. Marie will show the
world just how violent she can be and she will it at the expense of Jessica Wilde.
There
was a time that, maybe just maybe, Marie could have learned something from
Wilde. But not anymore. Now Marie is the expert. Now Marie is the star. Now Marie will show the world just what she
can do by taking out Jessica Wilde and effectively crippling her True Sinistry in
the process.

We
are met by the flames of a fire burning, not out of control, but just enough to
keep us warm. The flames lick the dark
chocolate brown wood of the logs, occasionally kicking up in intensity but not
enough to cause any fear. As the camera
pans out we can see these burning logs are contained within a grandiose oak
fireplace. The décor of this fireplace
is regal, in what resembles a French style.
The camera continues to pan out and we see on the left side of the
fireplace is a see-through glass case containing many trophies and accolades
from times past. There are several
shelves on this glass trophy case, all of them containing some trophy or
championship belt of some sort to show off the owner's greatness. The top shelf, however, is empty.
At
this time we are joined by a female figure entering the scene from stage
right. Her long gorgeous red-hair
cascades fluidly and gracefully to just below her shoulders. This lovely woman is wearing a wine-colored
long-sleeved sweater, a knee length black skirt, and black high heeled
pumps. She stops directly in front of
the fireplace and turns to face the camera.
We can now see that this is none other than Marie Annabelle Jones and,
in her right hand, she is holding a trophy of sorts.
“My
name is Marie Annabelle Jones and I am the number one contender to the IWC
World Tag Team Championship! My name is
Marie Annabelle Jones and I am the number one contender to the IWC Uprising
World Championship!”
A
sneer forms across the lovely ginger's face. “None of you believed in me,
did you? You all thought I was a
whiner! You all thought I just threw
tantrums!”
She
raises up the trophy high into the air. “Well how is this for a tantrum,
boys and girls? BELIEVE IT because none
of you frosty heroes won Best Gimmick, did they?”
Jones
shakes her head. “No, because your frosty heroes are boring and lacking of
any substance outside of Disney flicks.
I am the real deal, I am the number one overall draft pick, I am the
crown jewel of professional wrestling, and I am the leader of the ginger
nation, a force so powerful and so popular that it got nominated for an IWC
award without even having any real presence within the company outside of yours
truly!”
The
ginger uses her free hand to motion to her succulent form. “Oh but what a presence I am! On a scale of one to ten, I'm a fifteen. I single handedly rescue IWC Uprising from
obscurity week in and week out because, let's be honest, without me professional
wrestling fans have no reason to watch that program. Silas World lost Sienna Swann and Regan
Street? Big deal! Silas Mason still has me and he knows that I
am all he needs and this award further proves that point!”
Marie
turns towards the glass case, takes one step closer to it, and then places the
Best Gimmick award on the top shelf. The
beautiful ginger turns back to face the camera, grinning arrogantly.
“This
is why people like me are winners. This
is why people like me and Amanda Blayze became number one contenders to the IWC
World Tag Team Titles two weeks ago on Uprising. People like me and Blayze, Silas World, we
always bring our best. We always bring
our A-Game. Chris Davids brought his
A-Game but then you have some people like, Christian Savior for example, who
don't bring a damn thing to the match, let alone an A-Game. It's almost like he didn't even bother to
show up.”
Jones
winks at the camera. “How's that wall holding up?”
“In
any event, it will not be long now until I am a double champion in the
Independent Wrestling Cartel. Over my
left shoulder one half of the tag titles will be resting, and on my right will
rest the grand prize, the IWC Uprising World Championship. You can deny it all you want but deep down
inside everyone knows it is true. I took
out Crissy Gardner, Scott Steele, and even Drew Bryant himself. I went on to defeat Ethan Von Aaron and
Amanda Blayze to become number one contender to the world title. I then was able to put my differences with
Blayze behind me in order to work with her to defeat Chris Davids and Christian
“Missing In Action” Savior to become number one contenders to the tag titles.”
“I
have knocked down each and every moron that bothered to try and get in my
way. Revolution will not be any
different. Whether its Vanilla Skyy,
Alana Starr, Tina Valentine, William Mason, or even Christian Savior...”
Jones
starts laughing “...sorry! I couldn't
maintain my composure! The mere though
of Savior making it to Revolution is hilariously ridiculous!”
“My
point is simple, no matter who it is I have to face at Revolution, I will
defeat them to become IWC Uprising World Champion, and when I become world
champion I will bring a fresh new face of leadership to the IWC, leadership
that has been lacking for a very long time.
Case in point, my opponent for next Uprising, Jessica Wilde...”
“...I
remember my first IWC event. I remember
seeing the many wrestlers backstage, many of whom were friendly, and some were
familiar faces from days of long ago.
But one group of people who struck me as an oddball group was the
Sinistry; Ba'al and his groupies reminded me of the gothic equivalent of
hippies, only without the whole peace bullshit.
I never cared much for them but when they came into power I knew not to
bite the hand that wrote the paychecks.
I tried to stay out of their way.
But Jessica Wilde was a believer.
Believe it!”
She
chuckles again. “Sorry, couldn't help myself. In any event, Wilde struck me as a true
believer, a follower, a minion if you will.
Nothing much special about a minion so there was nothing special about
her. She would fade into obscurity.”
“But
then the Sinistry fell. Ba'al left and,
in her words, abandoned her. Jessica had
the chance to break out of her shell and show IWC what she was made of! She could finally show IWC who she really
was!”
Jones
shakes her head in disappointment. “What Wilde did was show the world that
she was professional wrestling's equivalent to New Coke.”
“Seriously,
Wilde, what were you thinking with this whole True Sinistry crap? Ba'al and his Sinistry managed to take over
IWC! Did you really believe that you
were going to be able to make that kind of impact or a bigger impact within IWC
with your True Sinistry? Hell, you
couldn't even get started right. The
right first step would have been to pick a name for your group of goth hippies
that would set you apart from the Sinistry, instead you chose to outright rip
them off.”
“As
far as your recruitment drive? Let's
just say it has been lackluster at best.
Your followers have not made much of an impact and as for your latest member,
well that just shows how desperate you are for followers. Lilith doesn't ADD to your group, she takes
away your strength if anything!”
She
snickers nastily. “Now here you are, a little lost girl trying her best to
find her place in the world, about to go face to face with a bully. Yeah, I'll admit, I can be a bully at times,
and I have no problem bullying you around on Uprising, because all you are to
me is a nuisance. You are an annoying,
prattling, little bug that I will stomp under my foot.”
Jones
stomps on the floor, the sound echoes throughout the room. “Just like
that! But hey, there is a silver lining
in all of this! Your True Sinistry may
be a complete failure but at least you get the chance to be in the spotlight,
you at least get your fifteen minutes of fame as you get to share the IWC
squared circle with the crown jewel of professional wrestling. It will be a golden moment, a great moment
you can tell you children or grandchildren about! You can tell them about how grandma once got
her ass kicked by Marie Annabelle Jones!”
