w/Jacob Laymon vs. Trinity Street & Priest

Jessica Jones has a difficult time trusting people.  A great deal of that is due to her own strong moral compass that she developed, combined with what she witnessed growing up in the wrestling business.  She watched many friends and allies betraying each other at the drop of a hat, including her own parents betraying their friends and allies, all for the hope of one simple thing…

…championship gold.

The Archangel found it rather difficult to understand why someone who throw away something that should be forever, or at least long lasting, like a friendship, just for the simple materialistic possession like a championship belt.

Witnessing these things in her life caused her to have difficulty trusting people.  Needless to say, it was extremely difficult for Jessica to bring herself to give her half-sister Kimberly Williams another chance and to trust her again, especially considering the crimes and sins she perpetrated against her own family; crimes and sins which include the kidnapping of their sibling Marie Annabelle Jones.  Jessica had all but given up on Kimberly.

One person who did not give up on Kimberly, nor did she give up on Kimberly and Jessica reuniting, was Marie herself.  Marie fought long and hard and shed a lot of tears over it, but at the end of the day not only did she manage to get Kimberly the help she needed to turn over a new leaf but also she managed to convince Jessica to give her identical twin another chance.

Jessica, Marie, and Kimberly are standing with each another outside of a gym in El Paso, Texas.  Marie is here for a match on SCW Breakdown.  Marie is shedding tears, but this time it’s tears of joy.  Jessica offered a handshake of peace for Kimberly, which Kim accepted.  All seems right with the world.

“I hope Marie is right about you, Kim.  I really do.” Jessica says quietly.  “She says you’ve changed.”

“I have.” Kim smirks. “I take it you’re not one to believe people can change?”

“I do find it difficult to buy into that notion, yes.” Jessica says, nodding her head. “But you are family, I think it’s only fair I give you a chance to prove me wrong.”

“All I ever wanted was a family, Jessica.” Kimberly states somberly. “That’s it; a family.”

“And I want that for you, I want a normal family myself.” Jessica chuckles. “I hardly have what is considered a normal family.”

“Yeah, but normal is no fun.” Kimberly says with a wink.

“Maybe not but to have a mother who thinks she’s a Dragon and a father who thinks he’s possessed by the devil?” Jessica rolls her eyes. “Not that great.”

“At least you have a father that’s famous.” Kimberly retorts. “Mine and Marie’s old man was a loser and died a loser.”

“Now that’s not a nice thing to say about your father.” Jessica scolds.

“Maybe not, but it’s true.” She motions to Marie. “She won’t deny it.”

Jessica can’t help but smile as she listens to Kimberly and her brutal honesty.  Jessica does appreciate the honesty and the bluntness.  She chuckles lightly.

“So you’re serious about this change, aren’t you Kim?”

“As serious as a heartbeat.”

“I never thought I’d see the day that you could change, that you WOULD change.  It just seemed improbably.” Jessica shrugs her shoulders. “Never say never, right?”

“Especially not in this family.” Kimberly says with another playful wink.

“True enough.  Just remember.” She places a hand on Kimberly’s shoulder. “I am still watching you.”

Outsiders may look at this tag team main event on Mayhem as your typical evil empire against the plucky rebels, the heroes against the villains, or the good guys against the bad guys.

I’m not sure that last one fits considering the only true “guy” in this match is Jacob Laymon, but that’s another story for another time.

I wouldn’t classify this match in such simplistic terms.  For me, this match is about more than good and bad or hero and villain.  This is about the power hungry versus the traditionalists, those who care about this great company and where it came from.  This is about those who care about Motor City Wrestling and those who only care about one thing and one thing only…

…the World Championship.

Don’t get me wrong, that world title is a damn important piece of the puzzle.  Anyone who is not in this business to be champion is in this business for the wrong reason and should get out now because they are wasting everyone’s time.  But when being champion and being on top becomes such an obsession that you are willing to do anything, including selling your own soul, to get there and stay there, then you have a problem on your hands.

Trinity Street sold her soul.  The cast her lot in with the likes of Whitecloud and Malakai Laymon in order to become MCW World Champion.   Congratulations on achieving that goal, Trinity.  And I do mean that.  I’m not going to judge you for selling your soul for that championship.  My father, mother, and sister have all done the same thing in the past.

What I am going to do is question your judgment.  Do you understand exactly who you are dealing with?  Malakai tried this hair-brained scheme of world domination before…well, MCW-domination at least…and it got him nowhere.  Truthfully, it just got him an ass kicking.  Trust me, I know.  My mother was there.

And Whitecloud?  What else needs to be said about a loser who faked his own death just to get away from MCW?  He has burned every bridge he once had. The same can be said for Malakai.  They only have one friend and ally…

…and that’s you.

Yes, I know, there is Priest, your tag team partner on Mayhem.  But let’s be honest with one another about Priest.  The only time that big walking dead reject ass wins a match is if his opponent doesn’t bring his best to the table…or more accurately, if his opponent just doesn’t bring anything to the table at all.

How many matches has Priest even won since the revival of MCW?  One.  Yet somehow he finds himself standing alongside you and Jacob in the main event of Deliverance for the world title?  How does a curtain jerker like him even rate that?

He’s there as your patsy, plain and simple.

I just wanted you to understand exactly what you’re in for on Mayhem.  You are facing The Archangel and Jacob Laymon and you have a doormat like Priest as your tag team partner.  Honestly, may as well be a handicap match.

Now if anyone can handle a handicap match it would be you, Street.  I don’t doubt that.  But that’s just about all you can do on Mayhem.  You can handle yourself, you can hold your own.  At the end of the day, Priest will perform as he usually does, which is to say he won’t perform, and Jacob and I will do what we do best.

We’ll win, and if you don’t believe me, just come and place your bets.

Dobranoc.
