A long black
limousine cruises down the highways on the outskirts of Detroit, Michigan. Only the wealthiest and best, those who are
used to living in the lap of luxury take this kind of transportation, and that
individual is not MCW’s own Jessica Jones.
It is, however, Summer Newman, the wealthy businesswoman who happens to
be Jessica’s associate within the professional wrestling group known as Pure
Class. Their relationship over the years
has been a roller coaster. They were tag
team champions before they became enemies and recently they have reunited
within Pure Class. The odd thing is that
now Summer has taken a more hands-on role in dealing with Jessica. The two seem to be closer than ever, hanging
out with one another much more frequently than they do the other Pure Class
associates. Why this is the case is
anyone’s guess.
“So this is Detroit?” Summer says with a
note of disgust in her voice as she looks out the window. “Drab, run down…”
“We’re not quite in Detroit yet, Ms. Newman,”
Jessica says respectfully “but we are
close.”
“Ah,
well, it has to get better than this.” Summer sighs and shakes her head. “I wish I was back in Palm Beach.”
The two
women are in the back of the limousine.
Both dressed nicely to the “T”, as if they are going to a party. In between them, in the cup holders, are two
glasses of wine, one for Summer and one for Jessica. Summer takes a sip of her wine as she
continues to “enjoy” the scenery.
“Trust me, Ms. Newman, this will be worth
it.”Jessica assures her. “Maybe not
for the scenery, because I agree, this place is definitely far from being pure,
but what better place than Detroit, an impure cesspool as it is, to spread the
message of Purity and Class?”
Jessica
reaches down and takes her glass of wine and takes a sip. “And to
think you’ll be there in the Joe Louis Arena, to support me as I take down Dirk
Durggan and Mya Denton at Deliverance…all in the name of purity.”
“Yes, perhaps you’re right.” Summer
says, smiling evilly. “Perhaps there is
no better place to spread our message than a rotten cesspool like Detroit? And you?”
She points a
finger at Jessica. “As the Archangel of
Purity you are our perfect weapon against such people as Durggan and Denton.”
Jessica
frowns. “Do you even know them, Ms.
Newman?”
“I don’t need to know them.” Summer
retorts. “They’re not one of us,
therefore they are impure, not classy, and need to be dealt with. Understood?”
Jessica nods
her head. “Yes, I understand Ms. Newman,
apologies for questioning you.”
“No need to apologize,” Summer runs a
hand through Jessica’s long red hair. “Just
go out there and do what you do best.”
Jessica
perks up and smirks knowingly. “Destroy
them.”

There is a
great deal I could say about my position at Deliverance. As my opponent at Deliverance rightly pointed
out, I have fought and beaten the best MCW has to offer. Jacob Laymon is challenging for the world
championship and I made him tap out to the Four Card Trick. Trinity Street is our current world champion
and I defeated her, albeit in a tag team match.
The list goes on and on; hell, I could easily make a case that I belong
in one of the championship matches at Deliverance, not in a triple threat
against someone with potential and someone who never will be…
I represent
Pure Class and it is neither pure nor classy to whine, bitch, and moan about
everything under the sun, which tends to be the popular trend amongst oh so
many professional athletes in our sport.
So I choose not to lower myself to that level. Just as Pure Class always does, I will not
only raise the bar but I was exceed expectations. Instead of getting an opportunity by crying
to General Manager Glory Braddock, I
will get my opportunity the old fashioned way…
…I will earn
my opportunity at Deliverance when I show the world that I am still the biggest
threat in this company to take any championship I so desire.
Mya Denton,
you and I have both been in this incarnation of Motor City Wrestling since its
inception, but you outlast me in terms of experience with this great
company. I came here to improve MCW, to
save it from the typical chaos that usually runs rampant and to also brings a
sense of Purity and Class to this otherwise sleazy attraction. But you, I have to ask, what have you come
here to do, Mya?
The best I
can tell, you’re here to run the proverbial hamster wheel…or metaphorical
treadmill…either way, you’re going nowhere fast, and you’re staying in the exact
same spot with no real significant victories under your belt.
Does that
sound harsh? Perhaps it does, but it’s
also the truth and sometimes the truth does hurt. You may point to your victory over Priest on
Mayhem but let’s be honest with ourselves, who hasn’t beaten Priest? You’re not the first to beat Priest, you’re
just a little late to the party.
I do wish
you the best of luck, because it’s the classy and pure thing to do, but despite
that, the fact remains that you are not in my league, Mya. The best you can hope for is that the chaos that
goes with the triple threat match will allow you to sneak in the back door and
pull a rabbit out of your hat.
Not going to
happen on my watch.
That leaves
the wild card in this match, Dirk Durggan.
And when I say “wild card” I automatically think about game of poker, a
game my father taught me how to play and he taught me very well. I’d like to say he taught me quite well at
the game and its variations, including five card draw, Texas Hold-Em, and
others. I can beat the best poker player
around. It doesn’t matter the variant.
What I don’t
like about poker are when people want to include wild cards, because you just
never what a wild card will do. A wild
card can be anything or do anything. You
can’t predict it and that’s why I hate wild cards. Wild cards take the predictability out of the
game and it takes away my usually masterful strategy.
You, Dirk,
are a wild card because you are new to MCW and quite frankly no one knows what
to expect of you, no one knows what you are capable of. No one can predict what you will do at
Deliverance. I mean, once there is tape
of you they can predict, but they won’t get any tape until after your match
with Mya and me.
So I guess
that makes us the test subjects.
I’m glad you
can appreciate my greatness, Dirk, I’m glad you understand how good I am,
because maybe you will get it whereas Mya Denton may not get it? Maybe you will understand that whether or not
you are the wild card, whether or not Mya and I are the test subjects here in
your debut here in MCW, the fact remains that I will ruin your debut, I will
spoil your party, and I will come out of Deliverance victorious…
…because
wrestling, just like with poker, is a game you do not want to face me in. And if you are brave enough to try, then by
all means, come and place your bets…
…Dobranoc.
