My New Goal

“The following advertisement has been paid for by The Ginger Nation…”

The first few loud chords of “Haunted” by Taylor Swift begin to play.  The scene then opens up backstage in what appears to be a television studio, but we are not in color, we are in black and white, with the exception of a few red splotches here and there, almost as if stains across the camera lenses.  “Haunted” slowly quiets down just a little, just enough so you could hear someone speak.  That someone who is about to speak steps into view from stage right wearing a red skirt that stops just above the knee, a leopard print blouse, a matching fur coat, and black high heeled pumps.  Sunglasses are on over her eyes but that’s not the only accessory that is clearly visible to the naked eye.  Due to the mini-skirt this lovely ginger is wearing a titanium knee brace on her right knee.

Yes, this is Marie Annabelle Jones, the crown jewel of Silas World and the leader of The Ginger Nation.  Based on the scowl on her face, you can tell that she is not in a very pleasant mood right about now.  No doubt we are about to hear all about it.

“Drew Bryant is a tyrant and is guilty of a crime that is far worse than any war crimes you can imagine.  He is guilty of crimes against gingers and it all began back at the draft special….”

She holds up one finger “…first the son of a bitch STOLE me from Silas Mason and RIOT!  You knew that Silas had the first draft pick, you KNEW that he was going to pick me, and you used the distraction caused by Brittany Lohan as an opportunity to sneak in and steal his draft pick?  To steal HIS crown jewel?  Granted, it’s like I said before, I can’t hardly blame you for wanting me on Uprising.  I am not just any Jones, I am THE GREATEST Jones in the entire Jones wrestling family.  I am the top star in this company.  I am a living legend and I still have decades left in my career.  Of course you would want me on Uprising.  That doesn’t make what you did right.  You committed theft.  You STOLE from my agent Silas Mason!”

She holds up a second finger “…secondly, you discriminated against me.  How so?  I mean, it’s quite easy to see.  I made some very simple requests from you, I wanted to be traded to RIOT, I wanted an Uprising Title shot if I HAD to stay on Uprising, and you never listened to a damn one of my requests.  And don’t say I’m getting the same title shot everyone else is.  That’s utter bullshit.  I am a one percenter.  I am better than the rest of them.  I shouldn’t have to qualify to get into that match and I shouldn’t be forced to stay on Uprising.”

She holds up a third finger “…and finally, you screwed me over on the debut Uprising show.  Yeah, Silas World was out there running amuck, I give you that, so if that’s your logic behind banning them from the arena then that’s fine, but you ALLOWED Scott Cannon to come down and help out Vanilla Skyy?”

Jones shakes her head. “Yeah, that’s it; that is the final straw.  I am not taking it anymore.  Because you can push someone just so far until they reach their breaking point.  I have reached my breaking point, Drew.  You all joke about the ginger snaps…well this ginger has snapped and you’re not going to be laughing about what I do on Uprising.”

“Do I care about your half-assed qualifying matches?  No.  Do I care about your half-assed Uprising championship?  No.  I don’t care anymore.   I am past the point of caring about winning and losing.  All I care about is hurting people.”

She taps her knee brace. “This bad boy right here, gifted to me by Silas Mason, is a great way to give people concussions or take them out of the game outright.  Tay-Tay wants it back so badly, doesn’t she?  Well I’m not hiding, sweetheart.  I’m not hard to find.  In fact, soon I’ll be coming to RIOT myself to kick your ass.”

“In the meantime, I’m going to use this and my lethal fists and feet to put down anyone and everyone who gets in my way, friend or foe, ally or enemy, it doesn’t really matter.  Like I said, my goal here on Uprising has changed.  I have a new mission and it isn’t to win the Uprising Championship. I am going to make Drew’s life a living hell.”

“Derek…Amanda…Vanilla…one of you will make it to the world title match and congratulations on that, but I promise you that whichever one of you does make it to the world title match will have to be stretchered out there because I’m going to leave you in traction this coming Uprising!  That’s my goal for this Uprising world title circus.  I’m going to do all I can to ruin it for Drew Bryant.”

She points a finger at the camera. “And they can all blame it on you, Drew Bryant.”

“I warned you, Bryant, that I could be your worst enemy or best friend.  You chose to make me an enemy.  You chose to push your weight around, you chose to be the bully by trying to force me to compete in a title qualifying match I didn’t even want to be in.  Hell, I tried to sell my spot in the title qualifying match to Gavin Taylor.  Gavin actually WANTED to be on the card but was not booked.  I don’t WANT to represent Uprising as its champion but he does!  You know, the smartest thing to do would have been to let the deal go through, take me out of the match and put him in.  Hell, even my own opponents, Vanilla Skyy included, agreed with me.”

“But your stubborn pride got the best of you.  You just couldn’t let me have my way, could you?  Drew Bryant always has to have the last world, Drew Bryant always has to have it his way no matter what anyone else thinks.”

She snickers. “And people think Silas Mason is bad…”

“I’ll compete in your little match, Drew.  I’ll jump through your hoops this one final time.  But I guarantee you that by the time Uprising has come to a close, I will get what I really want, and what I really want isn’t another match against Vanilla Skyy…what I really want isn’t the Uprising world championship…what I really want is to be off of Uprising television…”

Kimberly Williams

Some people like to say that if you’re not in this sport to be the best, to be the world champion, then what are you even in this sport for?  They like to say if you’re not in this sport of wrestling to be a champion then you should find another sport.  I don’t quite angry with them and there are many athletes in this industry who wouldn’t agree with them, either.  Laurel Anne Hardy comes to mind and she has been a tremendously successful athlete, yet she has never held a world title and never wants to hold a world title.

Yes, most of the time the championship gold will take precedence over anything and everything else.  For nineteen of the twenty people competing for spots in the world title match on Uprising, this is about the gold and I don’t blame them one iota for wanting that gold.  That’s the right goal for them.  But there also comes a time, rarely but they do exist, when you have to look at the bigger picture.

My sister, Marie Annabelle Jones, is looking at the bigger picture right now.  Her bigger picture is one that is painted red with revenge.  Vengeance and retribution is on the mind of my hate-filled half-sibling, revenge against those who have wronged her on the Uprising brand of IWC.  Revenge against Drew Bryant.

I wish all nineteen of the competitors on Uprising the best of luck…I wish you luck because you’re going to need it.  And I feel a special pity towards Derek Marks, Vanilla Skyy, and Amanda Blaze, the poor pathetic fools who have to deal with my pissed off sister on Uprising.  This could have been dealt with another way.  But your boss, Drew Bryant, made it personal.  And now she’s going to end it…personally…

Redemption Lives

Redemption Lives

US President John Quincy Adams once said that if your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more, and become more, then you are a leader.  Jessica Lasiewicz never asked to be a leader of anything.  Never once did she desire to lead a revolt, a revolution of any kind against the tyrants that seem to be ruling The Triad at this very moment, groups like Silas World.  She did want to be looked at she figurehead behind an uprising against Silas Mason.  Yet here she is, seemingly the centerpiece behind just such a revolt, and all of it because she just simply wanted to talk some sense into her mother Angelica Jones and sister Marie Annabelle Jones and free them from Silas World rule.

Her goal was a simple one.  She just wanted to talk sense into her family.  All she wanted to do was convince them of how wrong they both were for trusting Silas Mason and that they should leave his World before it was too late.  Yet all Jessica got in return was constant warnings from her mother not to interfere in Silas Mason’s business.   It was almost as if Angelica was a happy little puppet, spreading Silas Mason’s propaganda wherever she went, doing exactly what she was told to do.

Warnings or no warnings, Jessica knew she had to continue.  She knew she had to press forward and not let anyone in Silas World, especially not her own mother, intimidate her or pressure her from finishing the job she started.  Granted, Lasiewicz knew that her quest to liberate her mother and sister from Silas World would not be an easy quest.  She knew it would be fraught with dangers and pitfalls.  She knew she would take some abuse along the way…

…but she never expected that abuse would first come from her own sister, Marie Annabelle Jones.

~~~Begin Flashback~~~
Jones approaches the front doors of the hotel and then stops dead in her tracks as the doors slide open.  Phoenix does not set foot inside, even as the door waits for her.  The ginger shakes her head as she turns and walks over, away from the doors.  She can hear the doors sliding shut again but she doesn't care.  She knows something is amiss.
She is not alone.
There is a dark alley on the side of the hotel.  Marie makes her way down that alley.  About halfway down it she stops, places her hands on her hips, and shouts...
“Jessica!” A scowl forms across her face. “I know you're there!”
The Phoenix stands there, tapping her foot impatiently.  “I can stand here all night, Jessica!”
“It wouldn't be advisable.”
The voice seemingly comes out of nowhere.  Ordinarily this would scare anyone but not Marie.  She recognizes this voice as belonging to her sister, the enigmatic Jessica Lasiewicz.  It isn't long until a shadowy figure forms in the distance, down near the back of the alley.  Marie turns towards the shadowy figure and watches as it comes closer and closer.  Finally it comes into view and we can see that this is indeed Jessica Lasiewicz, wearing black denim, black boots, and a plain black t-shirt.  Her long black hair is pulled into a ponytail in the back.
“You never know who might show up in a dark place like this.” Jessica smirks knowingly. “It's dangerous.”
“Yeah, says the wannabe ninja.” Marie rolls her eyes.
“How did you know?” The black haired beauty asks.
“It wasn't that difficult.” Marie responds smugly. “I mean, I know you're trying to learn the whole smoke and mirror tricks from dad and your Aunt Magdalena, but you will never ever be as good as them.”
Jessica's father is Andreas Lasiewicz, the original Morning Star of professional wrestling.  He is not Marie's father and while Marie and Jessica did have different fathers, Marie does view Andreas as more of a father than her true father ever was.  Marie learned a lot from her time living with Andreas, and among those things are some of his tricks, tricks that Jessica uses to this day.
“Hey, I realize that I am not perfect.” Jessica begins slowly, calmly. “But at least I do learn from my mistakes.”
“I don't make mistakes.” Marie growls.
“Oh no?” Jessica asks with brows raised. “Well let's see...”
She starts naming things off with her fingers. “...first you sided with Silas Mason...”
“That was NOT a mistake!”
“...THEN you started listening to Kimberly Williams again...you know, the same Kimberly Williams who kidnapped you and assumed your identity?”
“That was NOT a mistake either!”
“Listen to yourself!” Jessica steps closer, approaching Marie, getting face to face, nose to nose. “You are refusing to accept that you have screwed up when you clearly have screwed up somewhere.  You do not have the IWC World Championship now do you?”
Marie's face contorts into one of anger. “You know why that is...”
Now it is Jessica who rolls her eyes. “Yes, you were screwed...at least that's what you tell anyone willing to listen to you.”
“I was screwed!  I should be world champion today!  I should be on RIOT!  I should...”
“QUIT YOUR BITCHING!”
Jessica shouted out at the top of her lungs.  Jessica does not shout, she does not yell that often and she definitely does not shout at her sister Marie all that often.  Jones is surprised, to say the least.  Jessica reaches out with her right hand places it on her sister's shoulder.
“Look, I'm sorry but it frustrates me...hell, it pisses me off to see you like this...”
“Like what?”
Jessica sighs. “...I know how good you are.  You are world championship material and you could have won that title at Invictus but it just wasn't meant to be on that night.  Perhaps you will get your chance another day?  Perhaps you will get your chance on Uprising?  But Invictus just wasn't meant to be.  But that doesn't mean you are not as good as Taylor Chase...or Katelyn Buehler...or even Serenity.  You are as good as all of them and can beat them all on your worst day.”
Marie blinks quickly several times, surprised to hear Jessica say that. “Do you...do you mean it?”
She nods her head. “Of course I mean it, but what irks me is the fact that I know you can do it without Silas Mason's corruption screwing you up.”
Jessica takes Marie's hands into hers and squeezes tightly. “Marie, do you remember what  Redemption was all about?”
The red-headed crown jewel of Silas World nods her head.  She knows what Redemption is.  It is a double meaning.  Not only is it a principle to her, an important one, but it is also a tag team.  It is her and Jessica's tag team that they formed with the sole purpose of redeeming their family name.  They planned on doing it together.  Jones Sisters United.
“Yeah...”
“Well that's what I'm offering you right now.”
“Re...redemption?”
Jessica nods her head. “Redemption.”
Marie stares her sister in the eyes.  She thinks long and hard about her offer, her offer of redemption...but then she also thinks about what Kimberly had to say earlier...about how she really has just one option...Marie knows she has a choice to make...
...only one choice.
With that Marie knees Jessica in the gut and then delivers a sharp European uppercut, staggering her backward.
“Redemption?”
Marie throws a right hand that knocks Jessica down to the ground. Marie snarls angrily with a rage the likes of which we haven't seen before.  Jones stands over Jessica, staring at her with hate-filled eyes.
“You can take your redemption and shove it up your ass, Jessica!” She exclaims. “I do not care about redemption!  I only want one thing now...”
She sneers “...destruction.”
With that, Marie turns and walks off.
~~~End Flashback~~~

Jessica would sit home alone and ponder the future of her new Redemption movement, she would sit and ponder the future for days.  After all, why should she go out of her way to save someone like Marie who seems so ungrateful and doesn’t even seem to want her help?  If this is how Jessica can expect to be treated by her own family, why should she even bother helping them in the first place?  Perhaps Angelica was right when she told her to stay out of Silas World business?  Maybe, just maybe, Jessica should turn a blind eye to the obvious consequences that her mother and her sister will suffer from when the wrath of Silas Mason comes down upon the both of them?  It’s not Jessica’s fault.  She tried to warn them.  They ignored her.

SCW Breakdown is about an hour away from going on the air and the young Morning Star is walking into the arena with gym bag in hand.  Jessica is wearing slightly worn black jeans, black boots, and a white button up top.  Her long black hair is left to cascade freely down to her shoulder blades.  And despite the fact that she has a gym bag with her that no doubt contains her wrestling gear, she does intend to wrestle tonight; or rather, she is not scheduled to wrestle.  But Jessica has been around the business long enough to know that nothing is ever for certain about this business, especially not your booking schedule.  Lasiewicz comes to every arena prepared for a fight, just in case one arises.  Still, after what has happened between her, her sister, and their mother, Jessica isn’t quite certain she really wants to do any fighting anymore.  At least no fighting on their behalf.

“Jessica!”

“Huh?”

That voice startled Jessica, but not much and not for very long, as she quickly realizes that this is a voice she knows.  What’s really most surprising is that she never expected to hear that particular voice at the Phillips Arena in Atlanta, Georgia for an SCW Breakdown event.  Turning around confirms Jessica’s suspicions to be true.  Standing there, a few feet away, is none other than the gorgeous red-head known the world over as Kayla Jones, Angelica’s sister and therefore Jessica’s aunt.

The lovely Jones woman is also wearing jeans, although hers are blue, and she is wearing white tennis shoes and a red t-shirt.  Her long red hair is pulled into a ponytail in the back.  Jessica takes a mental note of this oddity.  Kayla was a fashion model before becoming a pro-wrestler, thus she tends to dress much more stylish than this.  Seeing Kayla in what amounts to simple street clothes makes Jessica suspect that Kayla is almost expecting a fight.

“Aunt Kayla?” Jessica remarks with some curiosity noticeable in her voice. “What are you doing here?”

“Oh come on, Jessie.  Do you really have to ask?” Kayla smirks as she approaches her niece. “I was here last week, wasn’t I?  You couldn’t have kept your head that far in the sand that you didn’t know about that.”

Jessica nods her head. “Yeah, I knew about your presence on Breakdown last week, but still, I didn’t think you’d…”

“Come back?” Kayla offers. “Yeah, what can I say?  Even after your mother ditched me for Silas World I still returned.  I’m a glutton for punishment.”

Kayla opens up her arms, offering Jessica in for a hug.  You don’t have to ask the young Lasiewicz twice as she immediately walks in and embraces her aunt.  After a brief yet strong hug, the two break the embrace and stare into one another’s eyes.  A proud smile forms across Kayla’s face.

“And what about you?” She asks. “What brings you to Breakdown tonight?”

Jessica laughs lightly. “What kind of question is that, Aunt Kayla?  I work here.”

“But you’re not competing tonight.”

“That doesn’t mean anything.” Jessica replies quickly and sharply. “You should know as well as I do that your booking could change on a whim in this sport.”

The elder Jones nods her head. “I do know this, but I also know that this kind of change happens  usually at the whim of an out of control, power hungry promoter and Mr. Dra..Drac…”

“Mr. D…” Jessica smirks “…it’s easier, trust me.”

“Whatever.” Kayla rolls her eyes. “Mr. D doesn’t seem like the type of power hungry maniac who would change your schedule on a whim, Jessica.”

Kayla places a hand on her niece’s right shoulder. “So tell me, sweetie.  What are really doing here tonight?”

Jessica frowns. “You tell me, Aunt Kayla.  What do YOU think I’m doing here tonight?”

Kayla’s niece just stands there, staring at Kayla for a moment, studying her intensely.  She remembers that mental note she made, the one about what her aunt was wearing today.  Finally, Jessica nods her head.

“You’re looking for a fight?  Aren’t you?  You’re going to fight Silas World.”

“If I have to then yes, I will.” Kayla answers back. “But I’m not here looking for a fight.  I want to talk to your mother and this time I won’t let that pig Silas Mason get between us.”

“It won’t be that easy.” Jessica responds, shaking her head. “I’ve been trying to get through to her and Marie for months and I’ve gotten nowhere with them.  Hell, Marie even assaulted me on the streets.”

Kayla sighs. “Yeah, I heard…”

“I don’t know if I can continue, Aunt Kayla.” Jessica says quietly and with a note of sadness in her voice. “I’m not sure I even want to continue.”

Kayla Jones looks on at her niece who bows her head with a sense of sorrow and grief washed across her face; maybe  even a sense of disappointment, mainly disappointment that she couldn’t get the job done and rescue Marie and Angelica.  Kayla feels bad for her niece.  She feels bad for what she is going through as she hugs her once again.

“I know it’s difficult…especially considering what your sister did to you…”

“I’m trying to help her, Aunt Kayla.  Her and mom both.  And I get punched in the face for it?”

“You had to expect that.”

“Yeah, but from Silas Mason…or Katie Steward…or Harmony Fisher…but not from my own family.”

Kayla chuckles lightly. “Yeah, pro-wrestling is a crazy world and not everything that happens makes sense.  I can’t speak for your sister.  I haven’t had much contact with her lately…”

“That’s not surprising.” Jessica snorts. “Ever since she signed with Mason she has slowly started to cut us all off.”

“I know, and like I said, while I cannot speak for her, I can speak for your mother and say that she loves you and she would do anything for you.”

“I wish I could believe you…” Jessica’s voice trails off, the hurt is evident.

“Believe me on this one, Jessie.” Kayla runs a hand through her niece’s long red hair. “For starters, what you’re doing is brave and admirable.  I wish I had been more like you when I was your age.  Had I done some of the things you are doing, I might have protected your mother from making some of the stupid mistakes of her past.  Also believe that your mother loves you and would do anything for you.”

“Anything?” Jessica asks, wiping a tear from her eyes.

“Your mother would throw herself in front of a bullet for you.  She would sacrifice herself for you. If push ever came to shove, she would fight all of Silas World herself for you.”

Jessica wipes the remaining tears from her eyes.  After taking a deep breath and letting it out she simply nods her head.

“Ok, do you really think we have a shot at this?  Do you really believe that we can actually lead a revolt and bring down Silas World?”

“I don’t know about bringing down Silas World but I do know we can get your mother and your sister out of that group.  I wouldn’t be here tonight if I didn’t believe that.  Oh and by the way, your mother is the key to it all.”

Jessica blinks a few times out of curiosity. “How so?”

“She is the weak link.” Kayla begins. “Marie is a strong believer in Silas Mason but Angelica’s loyalty has been shaken ever since she found out that her wife Lindsey manipulated her into joining up with Silas.  And just last week I saw it…”

“Saw what?” Jessica asks.

“…that look.  I saw it in Angelica’s eyes.  I don’t think she wants to be in Silas World any longer.”

“Then why is she there?  Why defend that rat bastard?”

“Because she feels like she has to.  She joined and she feels as if she has a commitment now and she is stubborn about her commitments.  She won’t quit unless Silas pushes her over the edge.  I think she’s close to her breaking point, Jessie.”

Kayla smiles proudly at her niece. “Keep fighting, Jessie.  Trust me on this.  It’s worth your while.  And you are not alone in this fight.”

“I know, I have Brittany Lohan, but…”

“Not just her.” Kayla remarks, interrupting her. “You have me as well.  I’m not going to stand by and watch my sister and my other niece ruin their lives and careers.”

Jessica grins. “Then lets do this.  Lets kick their teeth down their throat.”

“Hey!” Kayla chuckles. “That’s my line!”

==========
Kayla Jones

==========

Greetings, Supreme Championship Wrestling!  You may have heard of me, but if you haven’t heard of me, then you damn sure know of my sister.  She is slightly deluded or just slightly deranged right now, but I can’t help but love her.  My sister is, of course, Angelica Jones and my name is Kayla Jones.  A two time world champion in this business, a former wrestling promoter, and now I’m about to get back into the industry I love; wrestling part time as well as becoming a manager.  Hopefully a better manager than that full-of-himself asshole Silas Mason.

Enough about me, because quite frankly I’m late to this dance.  I’m late to the party.  There’s a revolution under way and I wasn’t the one who lit the fire.  The brave woman who lit the fire is my niece.

No, not the crazy one who thinks Silas Mason walks on water.  She’s in IWC right now whining about not getting everything handed to her on a silver platter.  The niece I’m talking about is the one who was brave enough to stand up not just to her older sister but also to her own mother.  The niece I am referring to is the person you know of as The Morning Star, Lady Gambit…

…I just call her Jessica Lasiewicz.

Really, though, I should have seen it coming.  All of my life I let my own sister make mistakes that would damn near ruin her career and take years off of her life.  I sat back and watched it happen.  Not because I didn’t like her.  I love Angelica, she loves me.  But damnit I tried talking sense into her before but she wouldn’t listen.

Again, I shouldn’t saw THAT coming too.  Jones women are naturally stubborn as hell.

So I just got to the point where I was tired of trying.  I let her make her own decisions and suffer the consequences, be they good or bad.  But Jessica turned out different from either of us.  She got a lot of that Jones stubborn streak but she also got a lot of the fighting spirit of her father, Andreas Lasiewicz, deep down inside her as well.  All of that rolled up into one explosive little girl that just refuses to give up on her family.  So of course she wouldn’t give up on her mother and sister even when they joined Silas World.

You can keep knocking her down and she’ll keep getting right back up.  It’s like playing whack-a-mole with her.  Silas Mason and his babies can knock her down but she’ll pop right back up somewhere else, somewhere you are least expecting her.  It’s a never ending vicious cycle and you cannot possibly win.  Every last one of you will go down.

Yes, even you Katie Steward.  In fact, you’re the next one up on her hit list.  I’d hate to be you right now, Katie.  Because Jessica is going to kick your teeth right down your throat.

After Breakdown

==========

Kayla Jones really does want to return to the ring in some form or fashion.  In her ideal world, it would be as a part-time wrestler and manager.  Unfortunately there are certain hazards that come with professional wrestling, hazards that everyone knows about.  It is a contact sport, a physical sport that is fraught with potential for injury.  What makes it even worse for Kayla is that those injuries are accentuated tenfold due to her long standing history of neck injuries.

On this particular edition of Breakdown a perfect illustration of the dangers that come with Kayla’s return to the ring was clearly evident as Katie Steward, during a brawl between Silas World and an insurrection led by Jessica Lasiewicz, drove Kayla head first to the mat with a brutal DDT.  The powerful move appeared to aggravate her neck injury and the Jones sister had to be helped to the back.

At this very moment Jessica Lasiewicz is pacing outside of the doors of the medical area.  Inside her aunt Kayla is being treated at this very moment and she isn’t happy that she is being kept away.  That’s her blood, that’s her family, and she feels she should be allowed inside.

Nights like tonight not only serve as a reminder of Kayla’s injury, but it also serves as a reminder to Jessica about what she is truly fighting for.  These people, this Silas World, was willing to humiliate Harmony Fisher and try to cripple Kayla.  Someone has to stop them and Jessica realizes now that maybe she is the one to do it.

Already Jessica has learned that she will be facing Katie Steward on the next Breakdown.  She intends on trying to exact revenge on behalf of her aunt Kayla.  One thing you don’t do is piss off a Lasiewicz.  Jessica is prepared to unleash a fury unlike any other upon Steward.  She is prepared to make Steward wish she had never been born.

Jessica has been pacing the floor for an undetermined amount of time, growing more and more frustrated.  A trench would have been built by now had it been possible to do so through cement floor.  The young Polish woman grows angrier and angrier until finally she reaches her breaking point.  She can take it no longer.

“That’s it!” She exclaims loudly. “I’m going in!”

The on-site doctors told her to stay outside but she is through listening.  Jessica throws open the door and steps inside.  She is expecting her aunt Kayla to be still on a stretcher or bed of some sort but, much to her pleasant surprise, she finds Kayla sitting up on the bed, feet dangling off the side.  The red-head is still clutching at her neck but otherwise she seems fine.  Jessica is finally able to let out a sigh of relief.

“What are you doing in here?” The doctor snaps at Jessica. “I thought I asked you to stay outside?”

“You did.” Jessica retorts. “But I chose not to listen.”

Kayla grins wryly. “She tends to do that, doc…”

“No matter,” the doctor begins “I was about to release her anyway.  There seems to be no real damage done.”

He stares at Kayla. “That DDT just brought some of the pain back but didn’t damage it.  You will feel it for a few days but that’s it.  You need to be more careful, Ms. Jones.”

“You know I can’t do that.” Kayla says with a wink towards Jessica.

“That’s what I’m afraid of.”

With that, the doctor takes his leave.  He exits the room and shuts the door behind him, leaving Jessica alone with her aunt Kayla.  Lasiewicz approaches her bedside and stands directly in front of Kayla, staring into her eyes, almost as if to challenge her.

“So, are you still sure about fighting this battle with me?” Jessica asks.

“I am more certain now than I was when I walked into this arena.” Kayla says definitively. “I mean, seriously, did you see your mother out there tonight?”

Jessica nods her head. “I saw…”

“She was TRYING to help!” Kayla exclaims as she hops up off of the medical bed. “I know your mother is ready to leave Silas World.  I just know it!”

“But what is it going to take to push her over the edge?” Jessica asks. “She was almost to that point tonight, true, but how much farther CAN we go?”

“As far as we have to.”

Jessica frowns and then shakes her head. “No…”

“No?”

“You could’ve been hurt tonight, Aunt Kayla.  Seriously hurt.”

“Don’t you think I know that?” Kayla asks. “It’s like I told you earlier, your mother would do anything for you.  And I would do anything for her, even if it means sacrificing my well-being in order to send a message through that thick head of hers.”

Jessica smiles. “You know Aunt Kayla?  I think you’re right…we can win this thing…together.”

Laughter emanates through the darkness.  Nothing more and nothing less than the laughter.  It’s almost maniacal in it’s mannerism and it’s constant.  Never ending.  Eventually the laughter grows louder and louder until a female figure appears within the darkness.  She’s wearing a black hoodie, which can be barely seen through the darkness, and blue jeans.

“Just when you think you have the answers…”

She throws back the hoodie, revealing her face and revealing herself to be Jessica Lasiewicz.

“…I change the questions.”

She snickers again. “Oh Silas Mason, I would say how clever you are but really you aren’t all that clever at all.  You have just further shown me that you are scum, you are a pig, and that you are a disgrace to t his industry.  You think you can manipulate the ladies in your World, you think you are the puppet master and they are puppets.  And I’ll give you one thing, my sister does have puppet-like tendencies at times, but there is one individual who is not a puppet.  There is one individual who, thus far, has only done your bidding by her own free will.  That woman is a Dragon, and you believe you have tamed her.”

Jessica shakes her head. “That was the biggest mistake you could have made.  You can’t tame a Dragon, Silas.  Eventually she’ll bite you in half.  And you can sense it, can’t you?  You are about to lose control of your pet Dragon.  Hell, you’re starting to lose control of your entire World.  What happened to Harmony?”

She shrugs her shoulders. “Not too happy to be in the World is she?  And what about your prized client Kelcey Wallace?   Oh that’s right, she’s part of Monarchy now.  Your world is crumbling around you.  Your enemies sense a weakness, they see how vulnerable you have become and they are circling the wagons. The sharks are smelling blood and are about to strike.”

“It was only a matter of time before someone raised an army against you.  It just so happens that person turned out to be me.  And I am no one woman army…I have allies fighting by side.  I have the War Machine Brittany Lohan, I have the woman with the fiercest kick in the industry, Kayla Jones, by my side.  And of course you have me, The Morning Star, the Devil herself.”

“Oh and I can hear it now, I can hear you guffawing to yourself, laughing it up about how your World got the better of this army on Breakdown.  Yes, you did, but that was just one battle, Silas.  The war is far from over and my army is continuing to grow.  More battles loom on the horizon, such as the one I get against Katie Steward.”

A sinister grin forms across her face. “Hi there, Katie.  You have no idea how happy I am to be facing you on Breakdown.  Seriously, I am.  There is no one else I would rather be facing right now than you, you stuck up little prissy ass bitch.”

Her face contorts into an angry, hate-filled scowl. “I’m sure you are so pleased with yourself.  You made your pimp daddy happy by driving Kayla’s head into the mat.  You could have seriously injured her but she’s made of tougher stuff than all of you bitches put together.  She got back up and she will keep fighting, just like I will get back up and keep fighting each and every time you and your Silas World pals try to take me out.”

“Unfortunately for you, none of your pals have been able to take me out.  That’s bad for you because of what you did on Breakdown.  You tried to cripple Kayla Jones, someone who means a great deal to me.  So now, in return, I am going to cripple you.”

“That’s no exaggeration, you over-hyped, pasty-faced bitch, that’s the reality that you have to face on Breakdown.  You have to go face to face, toe to toe, with a really pissed off Morning Star.  The one demon that no one wants to deal with, the one demon that everyone is afraid of, is about to be unleashed upon you and there is no holding back.  The wrath of hell itself is going to rain down upon you and you can’t s top it.”

She throws her hoodie back upon her head. “Dobranoc…”
